Celebrate the 48th anniversary of Philadelphia’s most iconic film franchise with a city-wide series of events! As part of the RockyFest celebration, Eastern State will offer special programming on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to celebrate the history of boxing at Eastern State Penitentiary and in prisons throughout Pennsylvania.

Programming will include historic tours about Charles "Jack" Blackburn (pictured above), a renowned boxing champion who was incarcerated at Eastern State Penitentiary. Special video programming in the penitentiary's center rotunda will highlight the history of boxing in prison.

These activities are included in admission to the historic site on December 3, 2024.
