Winter Celebrations Hands-On Activities

Drop-in hands-on activities inspired by winter celebrations are available from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. All materials provided—just bring your creativity! 

• Card Making: Join us for a hands-on activity that brings care and connection to people currently incarcerated. Create holiday cards that will be sent to individuals in prison, sharing messages of hope and warmth during a season that can feel especially isolating. Reflect on the power of small acts of kindness and the importance of community beyond prison walls. All materials are provided, and no artistic experience is necessary.
• Finding Light: A Story Sharing Activity: Reflect on resilience, hope, and strength in the face of adversity. Write or share a brief story about finding light during a difficult period, adding your words to a collective display inside Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site. Create a tapestry of perseverance and renewal, connecting personal experiences of resilience to those found at Eastern State.
