6:00 - 8:00pm EST
Join us for a moving evening of music, storytelling, and ritual that uplifts the themes of justice, resilience, and renewal. The program will feature live musical performances inspired by the struggles of incarceration, the power of worship, and the enduring hope of freedom. Formerly incarcerated individuals will share personal stories, grounding the evening in lived experiences of perseverance and dignity.
In the spirit of Hanukkah—a celebration of light in the face of darkness and the rededication of sacred space—we will close with a Jewish ritual to rededicate the synagogue. Together, we will honor the resilience of those who seek justice and freedom, and reaffirm Eastern State’s synagogue as a place of memory, community, and light.
More details will be announced soon.
We strive to make the penitentiary and our site, programs, and exhibits accessible to all visitors. Click here to learn more about accessibility and accommodations at ESPHS.
