All Day
Join an Educator for a 10-minute exploration of the preserved Chaplain’s Office, learning about the role of faith in the penitentiary system and the complex relationships between rehabilitation and religion. The tour highlights original furnishings, prisoner-created murals, and stories of the people who lived and worked at Eastern State Penitentiary. Gain a deeper understanding of the institution’s religious foundations and of faith, resilience, and community behind prison walls. Available select times daily, included with standard admission. No reservations required.
We strive to make the penitentiary and our site, programs, and exhibits accessible to all visitors. Click here to learn more about accessibility and accommodations at ESPHS.
