Preservation Trades Center Virtual Information Session

Attending an information session is a mandatory first-step in the hiring process. An in-person information session is also available on Thursday, March 12th at 10:00 AM. Click this link to learn more.

Through paid, on-the-job training, Preservation Trades Center (PTC) crew members work alongside expert craft workers and prepare for a career in the trades while preserving Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark. Anyone living in the Philadelphia region (aged 18+) interested in pursuing a career in the preservation trades is welcome to apply for these paid, hands-on job training programs. No prior experience is required.

After signing up, please download the free version of Zoom and familiarize yourself with the interface if you have not used Zoom before.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be 18 or older
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or HiSET equivalent
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Willingess to complete a background check (justice-impacted individuals are encouraged to apply!)
  • Ability to engage in strenuous physical work
  • Interest in pursuing a career in historic preservation and/or the skilled trades
