As part of this year's Wawa Welcome America festival, enjoy an exclusive, pay-what-you-wish evening of Wednesday Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site on Monday, June 30 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm (last entry 9:00 pm).
This event—like all Wednesday Nights programs—provides a fun and meaningful night out, combining history, culture, and entertainment in a one-of-a-kind setting. Take a curated, self-guided audio tour via QR code. Engage with exhibits, art installations, and pop-up talks highlighting the history of Eastern State Penitentiary and the impact of prisons today. Reflect and connect in The Fair Chance Beer Garden presented in partnership with Triple Bottom Brewing Company.
Plus, learn more about what it takes to preserve this nearly 200-year-old landmark. Go behind the scenes with preservation staff and explore rarely seen areas—both before the sun sets and by flashlight after dusk. Engage in eye-opening conversations and interactive activities including a hands-on restoration demonstration.
Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Click here to reserve tickets online. There will be a standby line outside of the penitentiary for those without tickets. Standby guests will be admitted on a first come, first served basis depending upon on availability. Guests in the standby line are not guaranteed entry.
This event runs rain or shine. All ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. Capacity is limited. All programming is subject to availability.
