Public Tour with Artist Talk (ASL Interpreted)

Included with admission, subject to availability.
Purchase tickets online to secure your spot.*

On January 18 at 11 am, join us at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site for a special iteration of our Guide-Led Tour & Discussion. This one hour tour includes an overview of the penitentiary’s history as well as the contemporary art installations throughout the site. At the conclusion of the tour, join a Q&A with artist Mark Loughney, whose mural Pyrrhic Defeat: A Visual Study Of Mass Incarceration, is now on display for a limited time at Eastern State.

An Eastern State educator will lead this tour in partnership with an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter from Hands UP Productions. This program includes both ASL and voice interpretation. Visitors from the D/deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing communities are welcome to attend.

Due to limited capacity, the best way to secure your spot is to purchase timed tickets online in advance.* For more information about accessibility at Eastern State, visit www.EasternState.org/access.

*D/deaf and hard of hearing visitors who wish to utilize our accessible, discounted admission programs (e.g. ACCESS Card, Museums for All, etc.), which must be redeemed on site, may reserve space on an ASL Guide-Led Tour and Discussion by emailing [email protected] in advance of their visit.
