Kids love to explore Eastern State!

Kids are fascinated by the massive cellblocks, dark cells, and stories of punishment and escape at Eastern State Penitentiary. It's one of the most popular stops for families visiting Philadelphia!

There are are special guided tours on the subjects of daily life, escapes, prison uprisings and artifacts available several times a day, every day April-November. These tours are hands-on, interactive experiences, designed for visitors age seven and up. Please see our Special Guided Tour page for tour times and descriptions.

Our "Voices of Eastern State" audio tour is also available during all our hours April-November. Although the subject matter family friendly, it's recommended for kids 12 and up.

All tour options are included with admission. Children 7 years old and younger cannot be allowed into the building.
